Thank you to everyone who came out to support our community on Tuesday evening!
Our teacher, Agnes, who is a gardener at Sycamore Community Garden and a refugee from Sierra Leone, taught our first class of the 2019 season. Agnes is a mom of four who joined our Concord community in 2007.
Together, in the kitchen, we made FOO FOO (a dough made from boiled cassava, used as a staple food in parts of western and central Africa), an okra dish, a cassava leaf dish with meat and a spicy sauce.
And a big thank you to Unitarian Universalist Church of Concord for hosting the event, to our volunteers, and organizers.
